Results, photos from the 2nd stage in Braga and Press Realese from the Skate Committee

Last Saturday, April 27th, the 2nd stage of the National Skateboarding Championship took place at Parque da Rodovia in Braga. In the event, which had around 90 participants, the different categories of the national skateboarding championship competed, with Bruno Senra and Marta Nery being the big winners in the senior categories. The day was marked by high quality skateboarding and a high technical level, especially in the more advanced categories, with the highlight being the senior men’s category which put on a show and thrilled the lovers of the sport who completely filled the Rodovia venue. The dispute for 1st place in the senior men’s category was very close, ending with the victory of Bruno Senra, who got the better of Gustavo Ribeiro who finished in 2nd place. Gabriel Ribeiro was 3rd and Jorge Simões occupied 4th position. Joaquim Cruz, in the under 16 category, and Madu Teixeira, in the under 12 category, won with some ease, reinforcing the potential of skaters from the North of the country. In the female category, which has seen growth in both the number of participants and the technical level presented, Marta Nery returned to national competitions with victory in the senior category, with Maria Alves being the winner in the under 14 category. The 3rd stage of the national skateboarding championship will take place in the month of May, at a location to be announced soon. Similar to what happened in the last stages, non-federated skaters will have the opportunity to complete the entire registration process on the day of the race. This event was organized by the Portuguese Skating Federation, Skate Technical Committee and Minho Skating Association and has the institutional support of Braga City Council, Portuguese Youth Institute and Portuguese Olympic Committee, and is sponsored by Hotel do Luso, Prozis, Enjoi, Lakai, Tensor, Sample, Rewind Skateboarding, Imagine Skateboards, BDskate CO, Bana skateshop.
